Freddie Mae Thompson 81, of Utica, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 23, 2014 in St. Elizabeth Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born March 17, 1933, in Albany, GA to the late Mandy England and James Mathis. She worked for many years at Beaunit Fiber until their doors closed in 1971 She then began a 2nd career at Munson Williams Proctor Ins. an Off Track betting until her illness in 1993 She later embarked on a rewarding career as a foster grandparent at Cornerstone Headstart and the Utica Board of Election where she worked polls. She began her membership at Friendship Baptist Church on December, 7 1969 where she remained until death, she was one of the oldest members. She is survived by her two loving children, David (Dorthy) Mathis and Christine Mathis Stallworth of Utica, grandchildren; Sharonda,Alice,Bryant(Jennifer),David Corey,Kimberly(Dennis)Denise(Germaine)Doreen and John an Great grandchildren,Bernard, Willie Linder Jr., Jelesa, Jase, Darren Jr. Kiya, Jamal, Tanell, Janiya, Jeremiah, Steven, Nirvinya, Dynnell, Sean, Darren William, Dennis III, Da'miya, Zachery, Jordan and Janayah special nephew Frederick Gilmore and special loving friends Louise Frazier, Patricia Sanchious and Elizabeth Santiago. Friends may call on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 5-7:00 pm at T.Revels-Gibson Funeral Chapel 144 Eagle St. Utica. Funeral services Friday, 12:00 noon at Friendship Baptist Church 1004 Albany St. Utica
