Obituary of Bernie Shaw

Bennie Lee Shaw, of Utica, passed away January 4, 2014 in the Heritage Healthcare Center. Bennie Lee was born July 1, 1954 in Montezuma, GA, to the late John C. and Flossie Mae Shaw. He served eight years in the U.S. Air Force and twenty eight years in the U.S. Postal Service, in Sacramento, CA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, stepfather and friend. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Bass-Shaw, also by his five children; Theresa Hawkins-Rucker, of Utica, Michael Darnell Shaw, Johnathan Riley Shaw, Bernard Eugene Shaw and Benita Denise, of Sacramento, CA, seven stepchildren fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Heritage Healthcare Center. Friends may call on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm funeral service at Hope Chapel AME Zion Church, 751 South St. Utica.
