Edward Hill Sr. 73. of Utica, passed Sunday afternoon, at peace in his home with his family by his side. He was born October 23, 1940 in Belle Glades, FL, to the late Amos and Thelma Scott Hill. Mr. Hill graduated from U.F.A. in 1960. He worked for the NYS Division of Youth for over twenty years. He had political aspirations, and was elected to represent the 1st. Ward on the Utica City Council. He was a great leader and a selfless humanitarian. He was the Grand Master of the Masonic Temple and Sacandaga Elks Lodge. Mr. Hill is survived by his children; Daryl, Yvonne, Cedric and Edward Jr. Sisters, Juanita and Naomi, brothers; Leroy, Albert and George, a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. He is predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl, sisters, Minnie and Mamie and a brother, Amos Mr. Hill is a man who can be remembered for his efforts to bend the world's moral compass towards positivity. Friends may call on Friday, December 20. 2013 from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm funeral service at T.Revels-Gibson Funeral Chapel. Special thanks to the nursing team at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare East wing and Rehab unit.
