Obituary of Susan White-Lewis

Susan Darlene White-Lewis, 55, of Utica, died May 29, 2013, in Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare. She was born September 4, 1957, in Nolfork County, VA to the late George and Alice White. Susan graduated from Maury High School in Nolfork, VA. She traveled for many years, eventually settling in Utica with her two children and obtained her Associates Degree from MVCC. Susan was listed in the 1978 Medical Journal for being the first woman to have a live birth in the USA in 1977, while having a very rare form of Sickle Cell, C/C-Harlem Disease. For many years, Susan was a computer teacher at St. Francis De Sales school. Then later , she worked as an Admin Asst. at the Good News Foundation. Susan is survived by her son, Paul J. Lewis II, daughter, Angel M. Lewis, both of Lynn, MA., daughter in-law Lynda, son in-law, Dominique, five grandchildren; Cherish, Sarena, Angelo, Monique and Paul III, sister, Kathleen Reid, of Hampton, VA and many close friends with over thirty years of Sisterhood. She was predeceased by a son, Jonathan D. Lewis. Her strength, sense of humor, compassion and selflessness will be greatly missed by all who shared in her life. Friends may call on Friday, June 7, 2013 from 11:00 am until the 12:00 noon services at T.Revels-Gibson Funeral Chapel.
