Obituary of Doris Owens

On July 12, 2012, Doris Louise Owens, our "Mother Hubbard", "Chubbs", "Grammy", passed on at home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born February 22, 1925, in Plainfield, NY to the late Winifred and Dewey Nichols. She was a devout Jehovah's Witness, who raised her large family with tender loving care. She was an outgoing, outspoken woman who loved to laugh, listen to music and dance. She is survived by her sisters, Pauline McCollins and Pearl Colvin; her children Frances Davis, John Davis, Ruby and Billy Johnson, Carol Bristow, William Davis, Clarence and Emerita Davis, Linda Harris, Paul and Bridgette Owens, Irving and Kim Owens, and Felicia Perry. She was a doting grandmother to a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She loved having all those babies around her. She was predeceased by her husband, Randolph Owens, her sisters, Evelyn, Leona and Dorothea, her children; Maryann, Cecilia, James, Rose, Juanita Joy, Victoria and her great, great grandaughter, Nesyah. Friends and family may call on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at T.Revels-Gibson Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2012, 2:00pm at the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall, 585 Trenton Road in Utica. The family would like to thank all those who came to her aid during her last days to comfort her and her family, especially Navas and the Hospice nurses. The family is and will be forever grateful.
