Obituary of Rosalind Jackson

Please share a memory of Rosalind to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rosalind Jackson, affectionately known as Punchy, passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 64. Born on December 20, 1959, in Wilmington, DE, she spent her final years in Utica, NY, where she created a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. Rosalind was a dedicated educator for over 20 years with Utica Headstart, where she touched the lives of countless children and their families. After retiring from education, she continued to make a difference, ultimately working as an environmental specialist for Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center. Her proudest accomplishments were her three children—Latrisha (Antione) Hawkins, Tiffany (Alon) Holliday, and Marshall (Tiara) Jackson—and the legacy of education she left behind. A passionate sports enthusiast, Rosalind enjoyed softball, basketball, and track and field. She was especially fond of Italian and Greek cuisine, often bringing family and friends together around the dinner table. Music was a significant part of her life, with RnB and Gospel being her favorites. She also cherished her time watching Home and Garden Television, finding joy in the simplicity of life. Rosalind had an innate ability to make others feel special and cared for. Her nurturing spirit and generous heart drew people to her, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. Spending time with her family and friends, along with attending church services, brought her immense joy. She is survived by her beloved life partner, Winston McCallum, with whom she shared over 30 years of love and companionship. Winston played a vital role in her life, serving as a father figure to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Rosalind’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jayson, Marshall, Kailen, and Davion, as well as her great-grandchildren, Justice, Jayson II, Legend, and Harlee. Rosalind is also survived by her siblings: Philip (Linda) Benson, Bruce (Fannie) Benson, Charles (Mary) Benson, Raymond (Diane) Jackson II, Robert (Betty) Jackson, Roxann (Andre) Testamark, and James (Georgette) Jackson. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene F. Jackson and Raymond L. Jackson Sr. Her spirit of kindness and laughter will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. Rosalind Jackson will forever be remembered for her unwavering love, compassion, and the joyful moments she shared with family and friends.
