Obituary of Cora L Reed

Cora L. Reed, 65 of Utica, NY entered into rest on February 8, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Cora was born on November 22, 1958 to Willie and Virginia Reed in Southampton County, Virginia. Upon relocating to Utica, NY Cora found her passion of cooking by becoming employed by the Mohawk Valley Community Action Center (Utica Head Start) as the Head Chef for many years. Cooking was one of her many passions. She showed her love by experimenting with new recipes, preparing meals for family and group gatherings and poured love into every dish she made. Left to cherish her memory are her sister Carol (Stanley) Vann of Richmond, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Harold of Utica, NY. Cora is predeceased by her parents Willie and Virgina Reed, brothers: Randell Mason and Eddie Reed; sisters: Fatimah Karriem (Barbara), Viola Scott, Brenda Gantt, Joan Reed and Linda (Michelle) Mercado and grandparents Frank and Hattie Mason. The family would like to acknowledge their sincere appreciation for all those who have reached out during our time of grief.
