Ms. Diane “DeeDee” Greene-Hawkins, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023, in hospice care.
Born in Albany, NY, on December 5, 1947, Diane was the daughter of the late Donald “Donny” Greene and Catherine “Sis” Moore. She attended Utica Free Academy, earned her GED, and graduated from CDC. She was employed by The Observer-Dispatch and retired from CONMED in 2015. She was known as a very hard worker.
Diane loved her family. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Francine Hawkins-Garland and son Cedric Hawkins-Hill; four grandchildren: Danzel and Danielle Garland and Cheyanne and Derek Hawkins-Hill; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters and their loves: Valerie Moore, the Rev. Beverly Moore-Tasy (Sandy), and Suzette Moore; brothers and their loves: Jeffrey Moore, Vincent Greene (Earline), Keith Moore (Dorothy), Kevin Moore, Pernell Moore, Sean Moore, and Alain Moore (Tausha); and the memory of 4 brothers who preceded her: Lawrence Moore, Craig Moore, Curtis Greene, and Larry Greene.
Our family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff of St. Luke’s Hospital and Abraham House for their care, patience, and understanding.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023, 11:00 am at T. Revels-Gibson Funeral Home.
