Obituary of Stephen Hendricks

Stephen Hendricks, 67 of Utica, NY was called home on September 26, 2022. Stevie was born on November 14, 1954 in Utica, NY to the late Roy and Bessie Hendricks. After graduating from UFA, Stevie became employed and retired as a bus driver for Laidlaw. Hence his second nickname “Bus Driver”. Being a bus driver meant you had to be dependable and loyal, which is also how his family and friends viewed him. He loved to be around and be there for his family whenever a need would arise. Stevie was crazy about his “monsters” a.k.a. his grandchildren! There was always a spot on his wall of fame for their accomplishments. People were his thing - a profound love for all those who were part of his life regardless if they were a large part or sometimes just a bleep on the screen - you would always feel welcomed. Stevie also had a passion for sports (Buffalo Bills), history and politics. Please do not get to arguing with him about any of those topics because he would surely get you twisted proving his point. Stevie leaves to cherish his memories his son Steven Pulluiam (Utica, NY), daughter Nakia Williams (Utica, NY); grandchildren: Dr. Shyqual Lewis, Qadree Pulluaim, Zahryeya Williams and Ja’zari Kelly; brothers: Roy (Romaine) Hendricks (NJ), James, William and Bobbie Hendricks of Utica, NY and Ronald (Christine) Tarver (Albany, NY); sisters: Pearline Young and Doris Griffin; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be dearly missed by his sister Doris, brother Bill, granddaughter Zari and special buddie Peanut. Stevie was predeceased by his parents and sisters Linda Forman, Shirley, Terry and Robin Hendricks and brothers Thomas and Ronnie Hendricks and sister-in-law Elizabeth Hendricks. The family would like to acknowledge and express their sincere gratitude for all the prayers, thoughts, concerns extended during this time of grief.
