Obituary of Robyn JoAnn Briggs

Robyn JoAnn (Libertowski) Briggs, 56 of Utica, NY was called home on June 20, 2017 with family and friends by her side.  Robyn was born on August 6, 1960 in Syracuse, NY to the late Andrew Grady and Patricia Libertowski.

Robyn received her degree from Utica School of Commerce and worked as a dietary aide at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and retired as a Customer Service Representative at APAC.  Post her working career, Robyn went back to school to continue her education. 

To know Robyn, meant you knew “BINGO” and spinning “the wheel” were true passions that she shared with many of her friends.   She also had a love for cooking – no one went hungry when in her presence – known by the comment “Save Me a Plate”.

Robyn leaves behind to cherish her memories: her husband Alexander Briggs (Utica, NY); sons: Alexander Briggs II (Utica, NY); Michael James Gatewood, Jr. (Syracuse, NY); A’Kira Gatewood (Chittenango, NY) and Jevellel Gatewood (Syracuse, NY); her mother, Patricia Libertowski (Sacramento, CA); sisters: April Libertowski (Syracuse, NY) and Joann Grady (Nedrow, NY); brothers: Lemar Libertowski (Sacramento, CA); Ander Grady (Nedrow, NY) and Anthony Grady (Nedrow, NY); grandchildren, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

Robyn was predeceaed by her daughter, Erica Gatewood and her father Andrew Grady. 

Services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2017 at T. Revels-Gibson Funeral Home, 144 Eagle Street, Utica, NY 13501

Visitation will be held at from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm with funeral service immediately following at 5:00 pn with Reverend Arthur Gary and Elder George Clark officiating. 

The family would like to acknowledge and extend their deep appreciation to all of those who have extended their sympathies during this time of grief.
