Mrs. Elizabeth Fassett, age 87 was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 23, 2017 as she passed away at the Masonic Care Community
in Utica, NY
Elizabeth Fassett, daughter of the late Sterling Oakman and Laura Ann Mason-Oakman, was born June 9, 1929 in Aiken, South Carolina.
Elizabeth grew up and was educated in Aiken, South Carolina. Elizabeth then
moved to Utica, NY in 1963 where she became and worked as a seamstress for many years. It was in Utica, NY where she met and married the late Victor Fassett.
Elizabeth was an active member of St Paul’s Baptist Church for many years, and a member of Eastern Star until she became ill and was unable to attend. Although she was physically unable to attend church, she remained faithful in her walk with the Lord. She would
read her bible faithfully until her delicate hands was no longer able to hold the book, Elizabeth loved the Lord.
She is predeceased in death by her parents, Sterling and Laura Oakman, (2) sisters, Willie Mae Holmes & Lillian Seigler, of Aiken South Carolina, (1) granddaughter Viola, and (1) niece Jane Allen Goss
She leaves to cherish her life, (1) daughter, Willie Alma Pearson, (1) grandson, Larry Robinson (Chelonda) Utica, NY, (7) Great grandchildren, Katrina Washington-Robinson, Cassandra Washington, Jarvis Washington (Kara), Mac Carter, all from Utica, NY, Elizabeth Robinson, Olivia Allen, both of Rochester, NY, and Larry Jr. of Florida, (17) Great-great grandchildren, Dontrell, Nijja, Zariya, Jeremiah, Mack Jr., Nevaeh, James Jr., Hylek, Giyonna, Xianique, Isabella, Emani, King, Jennifer, Tiara, Giuliana and Aaliyah . (4)Nieces Melinda, Geneva Davis (Rev. Eugene), Brenda Brown (Benjamin), Demming Butler, (4) Nephews, Samuel, Thomas, and Scottie Harrison, Bradford Wright all South Carolina. And (3) very special friends Michelle Washington of Utica, NY, Jennifer Allen of Rochester, NY and Kindell Murray of Florida.

Elizabeth's memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, 1:00 pm at T. Revels-Gibson Funeral Home, 144 Eagle Street, Utica, NY 13501 with the Reverend Marilyn Bell officiating.
