Willie James "Gramps" Clark, 84 of Utica, NY was called home from labor to reward on June 6, 2016 with his family by his side. Willie was born in Unadilla, GA on February 4, 1932 to the late John Charles and Ethel Hudson Clark. He served in the Air Force from January 21, 1952 to January 20, 1956 with an Honorable discharge. Willie held a position for thirty-three years with the State Department of Transportation. In his spare time, he loved to bowl, fish and enjoyed being in the presence of family and friends. Willie was an activve member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served his time on the Senior Usher Board. He was also a member of American Legion Harold ProVost Post #1686. He leaves to celebrate his life and homegoing and to cherish his memory: his two sons Ernest (Melissa) Clark; Eric Glasper; three daughters: Lacora Gilmore; Margaret (Langley) Gilmore-Holmes; Dolly Clark; 23 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He also leaves to mourn special in-laws Fredlee (Dorothy) Gilmore and Gertrude Gilmore. Willie is predeceased by his longtime companion Florence Gilmore, one brother Ernest Clark and one son Terry Gilmore. The entire family would like to extend a sincere thanks and appreciation to Kathy at Heritage Home, 5th Floor for her compassion shown and Hospice for their extra special care giving. Services will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at T. Revels-Gibson Funeral Home, 144 Eagle Street, Utica, NY 13501. Family and friends may call from 11:00am - 12:00 pm with his home going service to immediately follow.
