Karen Zaneta McLeod, 64, of Utica, New York passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on April 15, 2016 to go home to be with Lord. Karen, the daughter of Baum C. and Flossie McLeod, was born on October 25, 1951 in Utica, New York.
Karen did a tour of duty in the United States Army and previously worked in the Utica City School District. She endured a lot of hardships in her lifetime but still had a heart of gold. She now is in peace and is in the arms of her loving parents and her precious daughter, Jessica, who we know are waiting for her.
Karen leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her son James Michael McLeod. She is also survived by her sister Mary (John) Lacey; brothers Marron W. (Carol) McLeod, Judge James A.W. McLeod and a loving and very supportive sister-in-law Pearline McLeod. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Karen was predeceased by her parents; daughter Jessica and a great brother Harold McLeod.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm with service immediately follow at Hope Chapel AME Zion Church, 751 South St., Utica, NY 13501.
