Edward Stephen Harvey, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 31, 2016. The son of the late J.C. and Alma Harvey was born on July 26, 1948 in Alabama. Edward graduated from U.F.A. in 1966. He was employed with Conrail Railroad for over 15 years. Edward enjoyed music and loved to DJ in his younger years. He was a staple in the community, loved and respected by many. Edward leaves to cherish his memory: son, Edward (Danielle) Harvey, Jr.; daughter, Shewanda (Michael) Young; all of Utica, NY; sisters: Tina Harvey (Las Vegas, NV); Christine Harvey (Baltimore, MD); grandchildren: Sanniyah, Sierra, Marianna, De'Shana, Ja'Zavion; nephews: William and Marcus; nieces: Christina and Alice; a special uncle: Bobby Harvey; special aunt: Charlie Mae Cellars and a host of special family friends. Edward was predeceased by his parents and uncle, Willie D. Harvey. Services will be held at T. Revels-Gibson Funeral Home, 144 Eagle Street, Utica, NY 13501 on Friday, February 5, 2016. Family and friends may call for visitation from 4pm - 5pm with service immediately following at 5pm. The family would live to extend their sincere appreciation to all those who have offered words of comfort and support during this time of loss.
