Ricky B. “Big Rick” Holliman
Ricky Holliman, age 54, of Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 16, 2016.
Born on May 30, 1961, affectionately known as Big Rick, the son of the late Herbert T. and Bennie Lee (Bell) Holliman. He was born, raised and educated in Utica. He was a certified asbestos worker. Ricky was an avid fisherman, he loved to “fish” and tell long “fish stories”, while talking junk. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, family gatherings, good music, volunteering in his community and Big Rick was a professional Bingo player.
Ricky is survived by his only son, Ricky Woods, Sr. (Jennifer); his grandchildren: Kaseem Carr, Lanice Blackshear, Ricky Woods, Jr., Kadesia Rosato (FL), Kayla Mitchell, Destiny Woods, Cadice Woods, Paris Woods and London Woods, all of Utica; siblings: Danny Bell Holliman, Sabrina Holliman Burke, Sheila Holliman, Belinda Holliman and Herbert T. Holliman, Jr.; nieces and nephews: Denay Frazier, Curtis Vincent, Tasha Frazier, Darrell Holliman, Shawn (Eugene) Anderson, Anissa Bell, Jerry Jones, Jr., Joshua Holliman and Lorenzo Holliman; aunts and uncles: Lawrence (Marge) Holliman, Rufus Holliman (Vivian Duncan), Geraldine (James) Regan, Lizzie Washington, and Jesse (Marilyn) Bell; and a host of great, great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including Ms. Iris Woods, who is the mother of his son, Ricky, Sr.
Ricky was predeceased by his grandson, Ammar “Merr-Merr” Williams; his grandparents: Lorenzo and Lettie B. Holliman, Louis and Margaret Bell; sister, Endra Bell; aunts and uncles: Roy Holliman, Lillian and Frank Watts, Margaret L. and Climmie Boykin, and Lloyd Washington.
The family has entrusted Mr. Ricky B. Holliman into the hands of T. Revels Funeral Home, I44 Eagle Street, Utica, NY. A Homegoing service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016, calling hours are from 11:00 am to 12 noon; funeral immediately following at 12 noon, at the House of God Church, 1304 Genesee Street, Utica, NY with Rev. Charles March, Friendship Baptist Church, officiating the ceremony. Ricky was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
