Sandra Lee Spells, age 74, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday morning, December 2, 2014 at the Heritage Home. Sandra was born in Clearfield, PA on October 30, 1940. Sandra moved to Utica, NY approximately, 45 years ago. Sandra was married to William A. Spells, who passed away on July 21, 2005. Sandra worked for New York State and retired after 35 years of service as a Supervisor caring for mentally challenged clients. Sandra enjoyed garage sales and helping others. She was a unique individual and will be missed by her loving family and many friends. Sandra is survived by Willie J. Phillips, Jr.; Kathleen Petrie; William S. Phillips; Laura Phillips; Serena Phillips; Mark Phillips; Stephen Phillips and Spencer Spells. Seven grandchildren; Josh Phillips; Alexander Petrie; William S. Phillips,Jr.; Caleb Spells; Veronica Spells and Trey Spells. Sandra will be laid to rest with her husband, William A. Spells in Forest Hill Cemetery.
